ARE YOU SUFFERING FROM AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID?

The THYROID governs our metabolism - Every cell in your body requires thyroid hormone for proper function. THYROID FUNCTION HAS A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON: ✔️Body temperature ✔️Bone health ✔️Glucose metabolism ✔️Hormone balance ✔️Nutrient absorption ✔️Digestion ✔️Detoxification ✔️Aging ✔️Fat metabolism ✔️Cholesterol levels IF YOU ARE SUFFERING FROM SYMPTOMS IT’S IMPORTANT TO TEST: There are a multitude of “thyroid markers” that can & should be tested. Unfortunately, many doctors run blood tests that are incomplete. MARKERS TO TEST: TSH Free T4 Free T3 Reverse T3 TPO/ TGA Serum Iodine + Selenium + Zinc

WHAT CAUSES THYROID DISORDERS? The most common cause of underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism): • AUTOIMMUNITY: Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and is the most common cause of hypothyroidism. • CHRONIC STRESS: Chronic stress & elevated cortisol levels can interfere with the hormonal signaling necessary for proper thyroid function • ELEVATED “Body Burden”: Excess toxins &/or impaired detoxification puts stress on the liver. Since the liver is responsible for 70% of thyroid hormone conversion, a sluggish liver can be the root cause of a thyroid disorder. • GUT DYSFUNCTION: The gut is responsible for 20% of thyroid hormone conversion. Parasites, pathogenic bacteria, yeast/fungus overgrowths, & increased gut permeability & inflammation can lead to lower levels of thyroid hormone. • GLUTEN: Gluten is a common trigger for thyroid autoimmunity, regardless of whether you are sensitive to gluten. Gluten sensitivity, however, is more common than you might realise & often goes undetected unless specific gluten sensitivity tests are performed.
